The Alderbed Meadow and Woodland are a six and a half acre site adjacent to the Playing Field which was gifted to the Trust in 2000. It is lovingly looked after by the Alderbed committee who take on the job of coppicing and maintaining the drainage ditches around the perimeter. The biodiversity in this area of ancient wetland....

Launch of Alderbed Ash Dieback Appeal

For safety reasons the Alderbed Wood will be closed until further notice. This is necessary because there are 40 ash trees suffering from ash dieback disease and some are considered to be in a dangerous condition. We are launching an appeal to raise the funds to remove the trees and re-plant the woodland.
